It is now the beginning of the high season here at the beach and that means perfect warm sunny weather for the next 6 months. It is a perfect time for you to come down and visit so I hope to see you here soon.
Tamarindo and the surrounding area are getting nicer and nicer. There are many more stores and restaurants than there were just a year ago. We now even have a movie rental store those nights you just don’t feel like going out on the town. The biggest change I have seen in the last year is Tamarindo has gone from having Just one bank in town to six and they are all competing to provide better banking services and loans. While rates are not competitive with the US market mortgages are becoming more accessible to home buyers and investors.
The biggest real estate news in the last year relates to two high end hotels that are moving into this area. The JW Marriot will be breaking ground on its beach front facility just 10 minutes south of Tamarindo in a golf course community. The Hyatt will also be building a hotel and golf course on the beach in Brasilito just 15 minutes north of Tamarindo. We have properties available in both of these areas if you want to invest before the market takes off.
In Tamarindo we have a new project that is very unique. It is being built to high ecological standards with preservation of the environment one of the top priorities. This master planed community consists of beach front, hill top and ranch land homes spanning over 500 acres of the most beautiful land in the country. We have elegant homes fully furnished close to the beach starting at $545,000 in this development.
If you are looking for an entry level investment consider getting into the booming rental market in Tamarindo with a 2 bedroom 3 bath condo unit for $145,000. These units are in the middle of town and a short walk to the beach. These pre construction prices will not last much longer.
If you have a dream home in mind and are looking for a lot you can find for a bargain across the bay from Tamarindo in Playa Grande. In Playa Grande we have a beach front development of lots that start at $112,000. We also have homes in this development starting at $495,000 for a nice 3 bedroom home with a pool and a 2 car garage.
If you prefer to be up in the mountains we have gated community of mountain and ocean view lots just 2 miles from the beach in Playa Grande. A large lot with a good ocean view there will start at $285,000 and a mountain view may be found for $150,000. Here you will find lots of privacy and a cool refreshing breeze year round. Villa Real, the gateway to Tamarindo, is becoming a destination in its own. This town which is a 5 minute drive to the beach down paved roads has taken off in the last year. There are 3 new commercial centers several communities of homes and talk of a much needed gas station. It is becoming a bedside community to the very busy Tamarindo.
If you are considering an economic alternative to investing in Costa Rica Villa Real may be an area to consider. We have two very popular developments in the area. One offers buyers a 2 bedroom 2 bath home in a gated community for $150,000. If you want to build your dream home we have beautiful acre + estate lots in a large equestrian community offering luxury amenities starting at $75,000.
Well I have saved the best for last. Avellanas beach is a personal favorite of mine. Over the last year I have been working with several developers and engineers on upcoming projects in this area. While the roads and the infrastructure are not to the level of more developed areas it is clear that this area is the next frontier.
The road from Tamarindo to Avellanas will has one new bridge and one more is under construction. When these are complete it will be possible to drive to the area year round without the fun of fording the two small rivers. This is just the first stage of development for this beautiful beach side community.
Many of the projects that I am working with there are in the planning phases and the others require an adventurous spirit due to the lack of present infrastructure.
If you are interested in getting involved in things at this stage while the prices are low I have an excellent option in this area. There is a small gated development of lots about five hundred meters from the beach near Avellanas. The prices are very good and start at $42,000 for a 550 meter lot. The largest lot available is 1,050 meters and is priced at $62,000. There are only 3 more lots available in this small project and one is waiting for your dream home.
